What Gasparetto’s home is like 6 years after the death of the host and medium

One of the most beautiful buildings in the city of São Paulo has always aroused the curiosity of the public

The pink villa on Rua Bom Pastor is an attraction in the Ipiranga neighborhood, south of the capital of Sao Paulo. Cars are slowed down as they pass so their occupants can observe them. Even those walking on the sidewalk look up. Impossible not to pay attention.

Inaugurated in 1927 as the residence of the Jafet family, of Lebanese origin, the structure with its eclectic architecture and Moorish influence was transformed into a girls’ boarding school in the 1960s. In 2003, the psychologist, medium and writer Luiz Gasparetto realized his childhood dream of buying it. He spared no money during the extensive renovations with the restoration of the original details.

Famous for his mediumistic paintings, he presented the program ‘Terceira Visão’, on Band, and ‘Sexto Sentido’, on TV Gazeta, in the 1980s, and exploded in popularity when he hosted ‘Encontro Marcado’, on RedeTV! , in 2005. and 2008.

He lived alone in the mansion until his death from cancer at age 68 in May 2018. Three years later, his heirs put the property up for auction. It was sold for around R$5 million.

Today there is an event space there with capacity for 200 guests. Well preserved, the villa stands out for its Arab columns and arches, the minaret, the skylight, the stained glass windows and the paintings on the walls, which reproduce Middle Eastern landscapes. A treasure classified as Historical Heritage since 1991.
