The body of actor Edson Caldas, missing since last monthwas found this Thursday (29th). Supporting cast of biblical soap operas on Record TVhe was robbed and beaten before dying. The case takes place a year after the murder of Jeff Machado, who also worked on the station’s religious serials.
Two suspects have already been arrested: Jairo Inácio Correia and Renan Calixto de Lima. A third suspected of being part of the criminal group remains at large. The police also seized the weapon used in the murder.
Investigations indicate that Edson was lured into a sexual encounter in Japeri, a municipality in the Baixada Fluminense. The criminals used a couple-swapping website to lure victims, and the meeting could take place at the person’s home or at the ice factory owned by one of the offenders. Upon arrival, the ritual of robbery, beating and death took place. One of the criminals admitted that there were three more murders by the same actions.

According to the police, Edson was tied up and placed in the trunk of his car. The actor was taken to a grove near Seropédica, also in Baixada Fluminense, to be executed. After the crime, the criminals fled in the victim’s car. The car was found with gunshot marks and traces of blood in Queimados, days later.
