Renato Machado leaves the daily news to talk about one of his passions
In Instagram stories, Renato Machado reassured family, friends and followers about his health. “I’m in the hospital just being tested,” he wrote. The clarification comes after rumors of hospitalization in a clinic in Gávea, a neighborhood south of Rio.
The check coincides with the journalist’s return to television. On March 21st the special ‘Uma Semana na Provence’ premiered on the pay channel Sabor & Arte, from the Band group.
An expert on food and wine, Machado traveled with his team to the idyllic region of southern France, where he visited vineyards to showcase the production of the drink, as well as trying the typical food.
He reappears on TV two years and four months after being fired from Globo, where he worked for more than four decades. He was a reporter, television host (including ‘Bom Dia Brasil’ and ‘Jornal Nacional’) and international correspondent.
On the GNT channel he hosted the series “Reserva Especial”, focused on European wines, and presented the program “Menu Confiança” together with the French chef Claude Troisgros. While one cooked, the other talked about drinks.
Renato Machado turned 81 on the day of the first screening of ‘Uma Semana na Provence’. The attraction will be repeated in the next few days. Some times: 3/26 at 1.30pm, 3/27 at 10pm, 3/28 at 5pm and 3/31 at 9pm. The communicator also creates the podcast ‘Mundo com Renato’, available on audio platforms.
