Monsignor Bruno Leonardo turns his birthday into an act of love in a pediatric hospital

In a touching gesture of solidarity, the Bishop delivers donations and spiritual comfort to children suffering from cancer in Brasilia

Normally the birthday is marked by celebrations and gifts, but for Mons. Bruno Leonardo this year the date has taken on an even deeper meaning. In a gesture of compassion and altruism, the religious leader chose to spend his birthday at the Brasilia Children’s Hospital, offering not only prayers and emotional comfort, but also a generous donation to assist in the care and support of children suffering from cancer.

The visit began early, with Monsignor Bruno Leonardo walking through the hospital corridors and stopping in front of each bed to pray and talk to the children and their families. In one of the beds, emotion took over the mother of one of the children, who could not hold back her tears when she saw the figure of the Bishop offering words of faith and hope.

Aware of the delicate environment of the hospital, the Bishop asked that only part of his team accompany him, so that the visit could be as peaceful and intimate as possible. “I wanted to be as close as possible, for a while, to the parents and also to the children whose health and life need my prayer,” he said, underlining the importance of closeness and spiritual support in these difficult times.

Upon leaving the hospital, visibly emotional, the Bishop was followed by patients, doctors and nurses who accompanied him to the door in a serene and unhurried greeting.

In addition to emotional and spiritual support, Msgr. Bruno Leonardo made a large donation of 250 thousand reais to HUG, an institution that provides vital care to children and adolescents undergoing cancer treatment. Founded in 1986, ABRACE is recognized for its work in finding a cure and improving the quality of life of patients.

In gratitude, the institution expressed its gratitude: “This gesture of love expands our ability to offer not only care, but also hope and support on the path to curing childhood cancer. To every family we support, With every life we touch, its impact resonates, strengthening our community with bonds of solidarity and love.”

ABRACE and Bishop Bruno Leonardo invite everyone to learn more about the visit and the institution’s actions through their Instagram and the institutional website, where interested parties can find further information and ways to contribute to the cause.

The partnership between @hospitaldacriancadebrasilia and the Bishop reaffirms the strength of unity and solidarity in times of adversity, showing that the celebration of life can transcend convention and become a force for good.
