Shaken, he explained that he had been approached by three armed criminals. “Now, in the early hours of the morning, on Rui Carneiro, near the Brisa Mar neighborhood, here in the capital, three criminals invaded the street to try to stop vehicles passing along the avenue in an attempt to rob them. There is a detail in this story: the person passing by was me.”

The presenter explained that he was very afraid and that’s why he accelerated the vehicle. “I just saw the three of them get in front of me, one of them armed. And at that moment, I didn’t know what to do, I just accelerated the car […] That’s when I heard a shot […] When the robbery doesn’t go well, they shoot out of pure malice,” he said.

João Fernandes also showed his car after the shooting, which had broken the glass. He was grateful to have escaped the accident with his life. “After what happened, all I thought about was my family.”

He concluded his speech by saying that he was almost hit by the shot and that the assailant who hit him was a minor.
