Asked by the host if there was anything about listening to her early music that made her feel ashamed, without hesitation Shakira replied “so many things”.

“I think that I overreacted to the screams in my voice. ‘Lo le lo le lo le’, the truth is that it was too much, I think I was going too far, that I overdid it, that it was too Shakira,” she confessed.

Why does Shakira not like her past performances anymore?

The Colombian confessed that after her pregnancies her voice changed and she also believes that her evolution as a woman and a singer has led her to do a different kind of musical performance.

“Over time I realized that after pregnancy, my voice became deeper, rounder, fuller. But also my choices are more mature and I developed as a woman, so as a person my intelligence matured.

Finally, at 47, Shakira reckons she’s “much more satisfied now with me as an artist, but that’s the way I see things” and knows her voice will continue to change over the years.
