Fátima Gonçalves and the singer met during the recording of the video for ‘Nêga’ and have maintained a discreet relationship
In an interview with ‘GeralPod’, by presenter Rodrigo Mandarini, former dancer and model Fátima Gonçalves, who was part of the famous group ‘Mulatas do Sargentelli’, spoke about her relationship with singer Roberto Carlos.
The two met while dancing together in a seductive atmosphere during the recording of the music video for the song ‘Nêga’, released in 1986. “We had direct contact there,” recalls the artist.
In the plot they were a couple at a Carnival party under a circus tent. “Look, satisfy my desire / Wet my mouth in this kiss,” sang the icon of romance.
The dancer reappeared alongside her in the video for ‘Só Você Não Sabe’ in 1989. “For me the most pleasant thing was being called up twice,” Fátima said. “So he liked it, right?”, commented Mandarini. “Probably,” the gaúcha replied, laughing.
“I lived a story with him,” said the stage veteran, now 64. “The nêga shook the heart of the ‘king’.” According to the script, he was on a mission to seduce Roberto Carlos “as a joke,” but ended up piquing his interest.
According to Fátima, the singer asked to re-record a scene. “She said in my ear: ‘I think my director is really into you, the problem is, so am I’.”
He reported that after the recording ended, he picked up his things and was about to leave when the singer’s secretary, Carminha, appeared. “Roberto wants to talk to you.”
When she found him in the locker room she was surprised. “She looked me in the face and she didn’t say anything, she just kissed me on the mouth. I was helpless, but I responded.” The podcast host wanted to know if the idol is a good kisser. “Kiss.”
Fátima claims she received a phone call from the singer two days later. “Do you know what she says? ‘I’m dying of lust for you.'” She agreed to meet him at an apartment. “I had no idea what was going on.”
The former dancer recalled a call at 4am. RC was in the studio, recording and singing a song over the phone especially for her.
When asked if the singer was married at the time, Fátima replied that he had separated from Myriam Rios. “There, in that moment, it was all with me.” Officially, the singer’s marriage to the actress lasted from 1980 to 1989.
Fátima states that the songs “Menina” and “Tô Chutando Lata”, both from 1987, were composed inspired by the novel. When asked if she was dating the singer while listening to his songs, the former dancer denied it. “When he walked through the door, he was no longer the ‘king,’ he was just the man.”
Sargentelli’s former mulatto reported that the singer banned her from posing nude for ‘Playboy’ magazine. “She didn’t let me. I said it wasn’t worth exposing yourself to. I received the invitation precisely because of her clip. I still have the ‘Playboy’ letter at home today.”
The dancer who toured Brazil doing shows revealed that the distance began after not accepting the proposal to “drop everything” to accompany him. “I didn’t want to be another little decorative doll.” The love story lasted “1 year and a little”. “We’re not done, we’ve moved away.”
The two have not been in contact since the end of the 80s. “When I lost my daughter, I wanted to find him again,” confessed Fátima. “You know this pain.” Her daughter, the swimmer Sarah Côrrea, medalist at the 2011 Pan American Games, was invested in May 2015. She was 22 years old.
Roberto Carlos lost two children: Ana Paula, 47, in 2011, and Dudu Braga, 52, in 2021. “I want to see him again, hug him tightly and say that he made me dream.”
At the beginning of 2023 the singer revealed that he had a girlfriend. His first serious relationship since the death of his third wife, Maria Rita, in 1999. So far no journalist has managed to discover the identity of his new partner.
