Madonna offered her last concert in Mexico City on April 26 and had as special guest Salma Hayek.
The actress took the ‘Celebration Tour’ stage dressed as Frida Kahlo to lead the dancers down the runway to ‘Vogue’, one of the singer’s iconic hits.
Since the Mexican appeared on stage, she received the applause of the audience and merged in a loving embrace with the “Queen of Pop”.
Before leaving the stage, Salma and Madonna shouted in unison: “Viva México Cabr…!”
For Madonna, Salma’s presence was doubly special, because in addition to knowing each other for years, Frida Kahlo is one of her muses.
“I love Frida Kahlo. She was looking for herself in her paintings and I do the same with my songs,” said the artist at a 2016 concert in the Mexican capital.
In 2002, Salma Hayek produced and starred in the biopic Frida, which received six Academy Award nominations, winning two for Best Score and Best Makeup, as well as other recognitions at the Golden Globes and BAFTAs.
Comedian Guillermo Rodríguez, Alberto Guerra, Wendy Guevara and drag Pixie Aventura were also special guests of “La Reina del Pop”.
Madonna will close her “Celebration Tour” world tour with a free concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on May 4, which is expected to attract 1.5 million people.
