In an interview with Somos Houston magazine, the Sentidos Opuestos singer was asked about the secret behind her marriage, stressing that she doesn’t have a specific answer as it’s not an “easy” undertaking.
“I would love to have the answer but I don’t, we have been together 18 years and married almost 12, we will be celebrating our birthday now in July. All I can say is that at least in my experience, marriage is not easy Human relationships are not easy, but especially a relationship with a couple, I think is the most complex of all relationships,” he said in the interview posted on YouTube on April 30.
The 52-year-old actress also acknowledged that in 18 years they have experienced many difficult times as a couple, stressing the importance of sharing a common goal, as a family, that keeps them together.
“A lot of times your romantic partner is your mirror and shows you what you don’t want to see in yourself, so that part is complicated. Of course we have experienced them (difficult moments), we endure them, knowing that we continue and both have the goal (to be) together, the same priority as a family,” he said.
Despite how difficult a marriage can be, Alessandra shared that it is love that keeps them alive through the adversities they may face as a couple.
“Having that clarity that you’re going to see complicated moments or sometimes it’s not the relationship, sometimes I’m not well, or vice versa, I’m not well and he is. Sometimes things just happen, but if you have the clarity that there is still a goal or a life plan and a priority together, the rest is worked out as we go,” he expressed.
