Globo journalist Eduardo Paganella is harassed and expelled from a shelter in Rio Grande do Sul; Watch a video!
The journalist Eduardo Paganella was harassed live this Saturday, 11/05, during the coverage of the rains in Rio Grande do Sul. The incident occurred during Jornal do Almoço, a program of RBS, Globo’s affiliate in the southern region.
The journalist tried to speak to a volunteer at a shelter in the city of Canoas, but was interrupted. Some people in the background of the report started shouting “garbage Globo”.
Paganella tried to ignore the “protest” and remained dependent. “It is a very beautiful job that is done here, only by volunteers, who do this work to help animals who find themselves in a worse situation,” she said.
Next, the camera changed shots to show the dogs being cared for by the volunteers, but another man again shouted “Trash globe” and some women made obscene gestures.
Reporter stops recording
With no way out, Eduardo Paganella had to interrupt the live broadcast and leave his post. “Here we will organize ourselves better and soon we will talk again with the people who are a little uncomfortable about the situation”he has declared.
