The singer Jorge Sebastián Pop Chocoj, artistically known as Farruko Pop, was murdered in recent days in Guatemala City, Guatemala, at the age of 18.
Local authorities found, on Saturday, May 25, his body buried in a grave inside a house located in the El Limón neighborhood.
According to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences, the influencer’s cause of death was asphyxiation due to strangulation.
On the morning of Sunday the 26th, agents of the Department of Specialized Criminal Investigations arrested a man named Carlos ‘N’, who is suspected of the murder.
While investigations continue, his father, Mr. Manuel Pop, assured that they are still waiting for his son’s remains to be able to bury him.
“Unfortunately, he lost his life in search of a better dream,” he said in an interview with Telediario Guatemala early this Monday the 27th.

In front of the camera, the content creator said that he is grateful to her for the upbringing she gave him and for what she does for his family.
“Always with my mother, she never forgets me. A mother’s love is priceless,” he said while hugging her, according to the excerpt shared by the “Guate Zunil” Facebook page.
Addressing his fans, the artist emphasized that mothers are those who “from a young age, when you were born, changed your clothes, took care of you and protected you.”
“That’s why I always carry my mother in my heart, wherever I go. Maybe I don’t call him because unfortunately he doesn’t have a signal here in my village, but here I am,” he said.
Pop explained that his mother spent her time “cooking every day”: “So, as I told you, let’s appreciate our mother, who is still with us.”
Farruko Pop’s body is about to arrive at his home
According to the Guatemalan portal LaHora.gt, the coffin of Farruko Pop arrived on the morning of May 27 in the city of Izabal, where it was received by a crowd.
His transportation will continue until he reaches Chacalate, where his parents’ home is and where he will be laid to rest.
