Comedian Marcelo Adnet will play a footballers’ coach in the new series “Mata-Mata”, with Cauã Reymond, which will be released in Globo streaming. The information was released this Monday (13). Filming will begin in November this year and continue until January, with locations in Rio de Janeiro.
In the plot, Cauã Reymond will play a former football player who works as an athlete’s agent. The character starts with a small company and gradually gains space in the market, with the help of a young lawyer who acts as his right-hand man.
The Nilton Santos Stadium, home of Botafogo, will be one of the main locations for the recordings in the capital of Rio de Janeiro. The Play column of the newspaper O Globo announced on 7 October Marcelo Adnet’s participation in the project.
The comedian’s return to the network comes after his departure in 2023. During his previous stint at Globo, Adnet participated in several projects between 2013 and 2023, such as “O Dentista Mascarado” (2013), “Tá no Ar: a TV na TV” (2014-2019), “Escolinha do Professor Raimundo” (2015-2021) and “Adnight Show” (2016-2017).
In an interview with Galvão Bueno after leaving the broadcaster, Adnet commented on his first experience at Globo, in particular on the telenovela “Pé na Jaca”. “Pé na Jaca… This telenovela mistreated me. The telenovela was very rushed… And it had the main actors and others to respect the schedule,” said the comedian, without detailing the background of the production written by Carlos Lombardi.
Participation in “Mata-Mata” marks Adnet’s return to Globo after two years away from the broadcaster.
