Farruko Pop’s mother refused to believe that the singer was dead: this is how she reacted

The mother of the singer Jorge Sebastián Pop Chocoj, better known as Farruko Pop, who was murdered at the age of 18 a few days ago, revealed when and what was the last conversation she had with him.

Mrs. Juana Chocoj was still waiting for her son’s coffin to arrive in her hometown of Chacalte in Izabal, Guatemala when she gave an interview to the national news program TN23.

Since she doesn’t speak Spanish, one of her friends helped her by translating her words as she recounted the conversation she had with the artist.

“On Sunday he got the last phone call and he’s like, ‘He only told me he was going to ‘The Academy,’ he just said that and he didn’t call me after that,” he recalled.

The young ‘influencer’ auditioned to be part of the famous talent show on the TV Azteca network on Saturday, May 4th, and it seems she would continue the process to be selected.

Farruko Pop’s mother did not believe her son was dead

Doña Juana Chocoj, Farruko Pop’s mother, confessed that at first she did not believe it was true that they could not locate the interpreter.

“When he heard that she had disappeared, he couldn’t believe that she was missing. She says that because Jorge was like that many times,” she said, according to her friend’s translation.

“Sometimes he says it like it’s true, but it’s not because he’s very naughty, no one thinks about what he’s doing,” he added.

Without elaborating on whether she received details about the inquiries into her son’s whereabouts, the lady said she later learned of his death.

“Then he heard that she had already died and felt sad. He says that “until I see, I will believe.” When he was still missing, I didn’t believe it, he says,” his translator reported.

“She remembers him as an example, she says, for the little ones or the little ones that they can still move forward, not only was he able to chase a dream and she says it remains as a memory,” he added.

On May 27, Interior Minister Francisco Jiménez said the killing of Farruko Pop would be part of the decisions of the “Barrio 18” criminal group, Prensa Libre reports.

A day before, agents of the Special Criminal Investigation Department arrested a man suspected of murdering Farruko Pop.
