On July 1, the tenth Festival of Flowers started in GUM, and the star guests traditionally tried on the role of gardeners. Ksenia Sobchak, Vladislav Lisovets, Alla Mikheeva, Alexey and Galina Nemov, Alexander Oleshko, Yulia Savicheva, Anna Tikhomirova, Andrey Burkovsky, Ilya Bachurin, Polina Kitsenko, Askold Zapashny, Elizaveta Arzamasova, Evelina Khromtchenko and others planted a bright flower bed with the author’s ornament, which complemented the already lush flowering at the main department store of the capital.
This is my ninth year of participating in this event. I think that this is the real height of summer: when you come to GUM and plant flowers, – shared Ksenia Sobchak.
Especially for the festival, 24 types of flowers were grown for several months. That is how many shades of yellow, orange, red, pink, blue and purple the florists needed to decorate the Main Department Store of the country with flowers. Lilac ageratums, lemon and orange tagetis and celosias, red and white begonias, pink coleus, soft pink surfinias, snow-white begonias spread along the lines of the store, plants framed the famous fountain, planters with petunias adorned the facade of the historic building from the first to the third floor. It will be possible to admire the floral decoration not only in the daytime, but also after sunset – the historic GUM building and the flower beds along its facade are illuminated with illumination, so everything looks especially beautiful in the evening.
