Luiz Gonzaga’s nephew denies that the family authorized Juliette to adapt the music

The musician explained that the song is the property of the record company

Daniele Gonzagagrandson of Luiz Gonzagadenied, this Saturday 22nd, through social media, that the Rei do Baião family had authorized the adaptation of his grandfather’s songs by Juliet. The former BBB released the song last week Come at a gallopa reinterpretation of Russian pagoda.

In his statement, the musician explained that the song is the property of the record company universal, responsible for authorization: “I came across a controversy that scarred me, insulted me. I’m saying here that no one in my family authorized this. This song is owned by Universal. They launched it because they wanted it,” began the nephew of the king of Baião.

Daniel also said that, before reaching Juliette, the song was offered to Anitta: “Previously, this song was requested to be recorded by Anitta. And they didn’t even ask permission. There is therefore no formal authorization from the Gonzaga family. It’s their music, they can do whatever they want.”

The grandson of the king of Baião also pointed out that the family has received criticism since the song’s release. For him, although the copyright belongs to the record company, there is a moral right to the work.

“In reality, this is increasingly the case. Let us draw attention to this fact. But nobody cares. People curse us, say we only want money and prestige. I’m against record companies doing whatever they want. It’s their right, it’s their property, it’s their music. But there is a moral right. Guys, do what you want. But don’t say that the Gonzaga family or the Silva family, in the person of my friend Lucia Silva, authorized it,” she added.

Shortly after releasing the statement on Instagram, Daniel explained that the comments did not hold Juliette responsible and said he spoke to the singer, who was actually the one who called him.

“I spoke to Juliette just now. Today we agreed on something important regarding national culture. This game is much bigger than us. It’s not about us. It’s about appreciation. He knows it well. Like me, she is a lover of our culture. Your help is essential. This is what dialogues are for. Permissions were exchanged between publishers. It’s not about Juliette. It is a market that chews us up and swallows us. She never lied and was very FEMALE in calling me on the phone and clarifying the matter for me. My respects and my defense to my friend”, wrote Luiz Gonzaga’s nephew.
