Shifty Shellshock’s latest Instagram posts

Two months before his death, on April 28th, Shifty Shellshock made what would be his last post on his Instagram account.

He shared a picture showing a person dressed in black among others wearing white clothes. They all wear balaclavas over their faces.

“The real thing is rare, the fake thing is everywhere,” he writes above the postcard, which was allegedly taken from the Internet.

To accompany his post, the singer wrote: “For those who stay, even though I try hard to scare them.”

On the same day, Shellshock posted other equally cryptic phrases on the social network, such as: “I did it quietly and I will win exactly the same way.”

“I’m more of a lover than a fighter, but the one I should love more than fight is myself. Mr. Shifty, true love. Sober, alive and grateful,” he captioned a photo of a person standing next to a heart painted on the floor.

Text posted also reads: “The black sheep, the odd ducks, the rejected, the eccentric, the lonely, the lost and the forgotten. Most of the time, these people have the most beautiful souls.”

Who Was Shifty Shellshock?

Shifty Shellshock met Bret Mazur in 1992. They started making music under the name Brimstone Sluggers, but in 1999 they changed to Crazy Town.

That same year, the group, which included Rust Epique, James Bradley Jr., Doug Miller, Adam Goldstein and Antonio Lorenzo ‘Trouble’ Valli, debuted with the album ‘The Gift of Game’.

In October 2000, the band released “Butterfly” as the third single from said album. The song reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for two non-consecutive weeks.

After their second album, ‘Darkhorse’, failed to become a hit, Crazy Town disbanded, but Shellshock pursued a solo career, collaborating with Paul Oakenfold on ‘Starry Eyed Surprise’.

Personally, he has been open about his struggle with addiction and has appeared on several reality shows dealing with the condition.

She is survived by three children, Halo, Gage and Phoenix, as reported by Variety. So far, none of his relatives have spoken.
