Several weeks have passed since the death of Chilean actor Alex Araya, whose body was found on June 7 in an apartment in Medellin.
According to media such as Semana, the interpreter had arrived in the Colombian city six days before to enjoy a holiday.
During his stay, he allegedly made Tinder dates with two women, whom he took to the place where he was staying, according to what his brother, Eduardo, told La Tercera.
It is alleged that the companions left the premises at around 1:30 in the morning. After this meeting, the artist did not appear again, but his cards were charged.
Eduardo suggested that Alex might have been drugged with burundaga by the women, who would have obtained the bank information necessary to rob him.
Suspects named in Alex Araya’s death
On June 26, the El Tiempo newspaper website announced that investigations were continuing into what happened to Alex Araya.
He also revealed that the two women he apparently contacted through the aforementioned application are already identified as suspects in the death. Furthermore, they would be the last to see him alive.
For his part, Manuel Villa, Minister of Security and Coexistence of Medellin, confirmed some details about the possible crime.
“At the time of his discovery (he was) naked and showed no visible signs of violence,” he said in statements reported by EFE.
The official explained that this case remained “as a death to be determined” and that the Medical Examiner’s Office is proceeding with forensic examinations to officially determine the actual cause of his death.
A resident of the area where Alex was staying shared with Noticias Caracol that his luggage was allegedly stolen.
“You can’t tell if they were big. “What the neighbors are saying is that it was two suitcases and since they found him, but not his belongings, then they are probably his,” he said.
Alex Araya’s body will be returned to Chile
Also in Noticias Caracol, Eduardo, Alex Araya’s brother, made clear his interest in the authorities finding those responsible.
“It would be good to be able to put pressure on these organizations to be able to carry out a thorough investigation of those responsible, as these cases will continue to happen,” he said.
Tuesday’s broadcast clarified that the artist’s remains “remain at the Forensic Court Awaiting repatriation this Wednesday,” June 26, to Chile, where he is from.
