The actors of “House of the Dragon” have conquered the audience. However, among all these there is an unexpected and furry cast member who has also won the hearts of the viewers.
Bobby, the dog from ‘House of the Dragon’ who fell in love with audiences and Hollywood
In the premiere of the first episode of the second season, we saw Daemon hire Blood and Cheese to infiltrate the castle of King’s Landing and assassinate Aemond Targaryen. However, they were joined in this task by a friendly dog whose real name is unknown in the series.
As the characters moved through the secret corridors of the castle, Blood, betraying House Hightower, decided to kick the dog to show his anger as Cheese refused to lead him any further. This action caused outrage on social media, with fans saying that what angered them most about the episode was not the killing of Prince Jaehaerys, but the mistreatment of the dog.
It was then that people became interested in the little dog, his real name and whether it was the first time he appeared in a Hollywood series or movie.
According to the portal “Screenrant”, the small animal is called Bobby and is a terrier dog that lived for several years on the streets of the island of Cyprus, which is located south of Turkey. The little guy was used to abuse and starvation, but his fate changed in 2019 when he was rescued by the charity Rehoming Cyprus Dogs, who found him and decided to find him the best owner.
Bobby also appeared in ‘Cruella’ alongside Emma Stone
Soon after, Bobby was adopted by Julie Totman, a dog trainer in Hollywood. The animal’s charisma and obedience proved so remarkable that its owner did everything possible to be able to participate in a Hollywood production.
To his surprise, Bobby’s star quality was so high that he caught the attention of casting directors for Cruella, the live-action feature film that saw the transformation of clothing designer Estella into the villainous Cruella de Vil.
There, Bobby got a small role as Buddy, a stray dog that the protagonist adopts in her childhood and accompanies her in the most important moments of her life. Now, three years later, he’s back to shine in ‘House of the Dragon’.
In an interview with the “Mirror” portal, Julie explained that Bobby likes to act and loves the idea that big productions decide to show on the screen not only purebred dogs, but also those mixed breeds that were rescued like him.
Surely in the future Bobby will have various offers to appear in other shows and will continue to make people fall in love with his expressive eyes.
