The day before, 32-year-old Hayden Panettiere gave an exclusive interview to People magazine and told shocking facts about her past. Once upon a time, the actress was going through hard times – dependence on alcohol and psychoactive substances almost destroyed her personal life and career.
I was on top of the world and I destroyed it. It seems to me that I reached the bottom, but then another hatch opened, ”she admitted.

However, on the way to recovery, according to the actress, there were many ups and downs.
It wasn’t easy and there were many ups and downs. But I don’t regret even the worst things that happened to me. I feel incredibly successful. And I feel like I have a second chance.
Panettiere rose to stardom after starring in the soap opera Remember the Titans at the age of 11. She admitted that she was only 15 when someone from her team started offering her “happiness pills” before going on the red carpet.
I had to be alert during the interview. Only then I had no idea that it was inappropriate, or what hell awaited me when I got into addiction.
Panettiere drank alcohol and occasionally took opioids, but meanwhile her career flourished.
My only salvation was that I could not come dirty to the set,” said the star, who got the role of superpowered cheerleader Claire Bennet in “Heroes” when she was 16, “But the situation off the set got out of control. And as I got older, drugs and alcohol became something I couldn’t do without.

In 2014, Panettiere played troubled teenage Juliet Barnes on Nashville. Even the actual pregnancy of the actress was spelled out in the series, and it soon became clear that the heroine’s inner demons mirrored her own.
Those were really difficult years. I was close to many of the storylines, such as alcoholism and postpartum depression.
In the end, when the actress began to refuse the liver, Panettiere ended up in a rehabilitation center, where she spent eight months.
It’s a daily choice and I check myself all the time,” she admits, “But I’m so grateful to be a part of this world again and I’ll never take it for granted again.
Note that last year Hayden Panettiere re-passed both post-traumatic therapy and inpatient treatment. She’s now back on set to reprise her role as fan-favorite character Kirby Reed in the sequel to the cult horror film Scream.
