The differences between Eugenio Derbez and Victoria Ruffo were left behind after the birth of his granddaughter Tessa, first daughter of José Eduardo Derbez. The former couple melted into each other’s arms after meeting the baby, who came into the world on June 30 at 10:44 am.
Eugenio Derbez revealed to Gustavo Adolfo Infante that although he was nervous about his upcoming meeting with Victoria Ruffo at the hospital, he had no idea what would happen when he met Tessa.
“When I arrived in the morning, I was a bit nervous. I didn’t want to add more stress to Jose Eduardo… but I thought “how to ask him what time the others are coming, what will happen, I don’t know…” The truth is that I arrived without much idea and with many expectations.” He told on the show De Primera Mano this July 1st.
“We were (in the hospital room) with Paola’s parents. we arrived at the same time. We were there until a nurse said to us, ‘Hey, the baby’s coming… As soon as she comes out of surgery, the baby’s going to come over here in the hallway to the nursery, in case you want me to see her,’ she added.

Eugenio Derbez recalled that as soon as the nurse told them that Tessa had left the delivery room, they ran down the hall for their first meeting, not imagining that she was already there. Victoria Ruffo with Omar Fayyad who was coming from Norway.
“We ran down the hall and there…surprise! José Eduardo was already in the corridor with the whole Ruffo family… Omar arrived and it was Victoria…”
Alleged “preferences” for the Ruffo family, Eugenio Derbez revealed that, after a “complicated” meeting, he and Victoria melted into a hug.
“I haven’t discussed this with Jose Eduardo yet, but I said, ‘Ah, hell, there are preferences! Mother was in the operating theater and I was in the abandoned one.’ I don’t think (that I was in surgery) but when I arrived she was already with the baby… I don’t know how the logistics were, but I’ll meet you in the hallway… it was complicated but later, as we all entered the room… Finally we met… we gave a hug…” he assured.
The 62-year-old interpreter assured that although there are photographs of that meeting, it must be José Eduardo who brings them to light.
“Yes (there are photos). At one point we photographed the two families together… There are Fayad Ruffo and Derbez Rosaldo… Only it is not my responsibility to upload them, José Eduardo will be responsible for sharing them,” he said.
What Victoria Ruffo said to Eugenio Derbez after the meeting
Finally, Eugenio Derbez revealed what Victoria Ruffo told him after their meeting and José Eduardo Derbez’s reaction when he saw his parents together, revealing that all their conflicts, even the past were “buried”.
“He said ‘congratulations grandpa’ and I said ‘congratulations grandma’… Until then we didn’t exchange many words, just “congratulations” and it was over. We had already smoothed things out before, but we hadn’t met until yesterday. I think the girl came to iron out all those rough edges. Everything was extremely cordial and I believe that yesterday, what little was left, was absolutely buried. We coexist wonderfully.”
At one point (Jose Eduardo) told me: “I feel very strange to see my parents together.” The truth is that I felt genuinely happy about everything, the birth of the baby and the fact that everyone was in the room, because it was Omar, Victoria, Anwar, Vicky, his aunts, Aislin, Alessandra, Aitana… so he was very happy,” he stated.
