Participant of the reality show “No Limit” Matheus Pires was hospitalized after being diagnosed with monkeypox. The information was confirmed by his team with a statement on social media this Thursday (7/7).
Pires’s health conditions are stable, but due to hospitalization, he will not be present at the grand finale of the program, which airs this Thursday.
“Earlier in the week, Matheus started showing some symptoms of ‘monkeypox’ and promptly took the exam. Yesterday (7/6) the smallpox infection was confirmed, so he had to be hospitalized and will not go to the finale of TV Globo’s “No Limite” this Thursday (7/7) in Rio de Janeiro “, says the statement published on social networks.
“We ask everyone to send positive energies so that they recover as soon as possible and can return soon. For now it is stable and as soon as it can, come here and explain everything ”, completes the text.
In the last few hours, Brazilian health agencies have confirmed 36 new cases of monkeypox, an exponential increase compared to the total of 142 cases already recorded of the viral disease in Brazil. Most of the cases (98) are concentrated in São Paulo.
The disease begins with fever, fatigue, headache and body aches, cold or flu-like symptoms. The difference is the appearance of the skin lesions (on the skin), which are called rashes or rashes (red spots). These lesions first appear on the face, spreading to other parts of the body.
Monkeypox does not spread easily among people. Physical contact or proximity is necessary for contagion, whether from an infected animal (such as rodents) or other infected individuals, through secretions or droplets from the respiratory system.
The incubation time is between 5 and 21 days between contact with an infected person and the appearance of the first symptom.
