They find the body of the ‘Top Chef’ star who drowned after an accident

The body of Naomi Pomeroy, a recurring judge on “Top Chef,” has been found nearly four days after she drowned in the Willamette River in Hyke Park, Oregon.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office announced that the chef’s remains were found around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17.

“People canoeing in the creek saw a body and called 911,” a statement explained, according to Page Six.

Marine lifeguards quickly arrived on the scene and found the businesswoman in a “shallow section of rock near the middle of the stream in about two feet of water.”

“Agents released Naomi and took her to a funeral home and notified the family of her recovery,” it said.

Naomi Pomeroy died after an incident

Authorities previously reported that on the afternoon of Saturday, July 13, Naomi Pomeroy was in the Willamette River with her husband, Kyle Linden, and a friend of both.

Suddenly, the floats they were traveling on “got tangled in an exposed obstacle”, causing them to fall.

Linden explained in an interview with the Times that they collided with a tree branch that was partially submerged.

While the two men made it to shore, “Naomi was dragged under the water,” police said, because she was tied to a stand-up paddleboard.

According to the New York Times, lifeguards located the TV star down the tributary, but strong currents prevented them from removing him.

They then began searching for her “in the area using all available tools, including sonar, underwater cameras and drones.”

Their efforts failed on account of “the great quantity of rubbish,” and when night fell they suspended work, which they resumed the next morning.

In his conversation with the New York Times, Kyle Linden spoke about the death of Naomi Pomeroy, with whom he shared 12 years.

“She was quite advanced in understanding this very interesting journey that we are on,” he said.

“In the last six months he has been more calm than ever. “He said he had done everything he was assigned to do here,” he added.

In addition to her partner, the culinary artist is survived by her daughter August, 23, and her parents, Toby Gene and Karen Walz.
