Maguila treats the effects of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE)
In a rare appearance, the former boxer Maguila66 years old, he was seen next to his 41 year old wife and coach Messiah Gomes.
The three attended an event at the institute named after Maguila, an organization that has been working with young people from the outskirts of São Paulo and the region for over 15 years.
Maguila, a Brazilian champion and renowned former boxer, is battling the effects of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), an incurable disease resulting from blows to the head suffered during his boxing career.
In April, Maguila shared on social media a video of a boxing lesson directly from the Itu clinic, where he had been hospitalized since 2017.
