Architect and entrepreneur Ingrid Santa Rita, participant in the fourth season of Blind Marriage in Brazilon Netflix, spoke about the sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of her ex-husband, Leandro Marçal, and what it was like to meet him again during the recording of the show.

“At the gathering [do programa]I hadn’t seen him since February, when we separated, when he left my house. We had the chance to talk through text messages, through phone calls, but we never saw each other in person again. Everything leading up to that date was torture. […] When I realized I was picking out clothes for the reunion, I started having a panic attack. And I’ve never had one in my life,” she said during her appearance on the TV room.
“The day of the meeting itself, I didn’t look at him. I started looking at Leandro when the frame broke. People say, ‘you lost control.’ But I don’t even know how I was there. I spent the whole week under medical care. I don’t know how I could stand it. Without looking at him, I was fine, but when I looked at him and started talking and reliving everything, it was horrible in every physical sense, my body started shaking and I thought I was going to collapse,” she said.
In another part of the interview, Ingrid spoke about her mother’s example. “My mother has up to the fifth grade [do ensino fundamental]. She didn’t study. But I think that life without any degree enriches us as people. And every particle of her life has made her so great. She is the mother of a saint, of a doctor, of people so studied, who tell her: ‘Mom, I don’t have the wisdom that you have’. I am very lucky. She is a very wise woman and really admirable. It’s nice to know that you have something to come back to,” said the entrepreneur.
