On Sunday at Wimbledon came the culmination of the tournament – the champion in the men’s singles was determined. The 20-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic and Australian debutant Nick Kyrgios fought in the decisive battle. The latter reached the final thanks to good luck – his opponent in the semi-final Rafael Nadal withdrew from the tournament due to an injury to his abdominal muscles. But in the end, Nick failed to overcome the titled Serb, although the fight was tense: the match ended with a score of 4:6, 6:3, 6:4, 7:6 (7:3), and it lasted 3 hours and 2 minutes.
The game and the subsequent award ceremony, as well as the women’s final, were attended by royalty. This time the game was attended by Kate Middleton, Prince William, their eldest son George, as well as the cousin of the Queen of Great Britain, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent. The Duchess of Cambridge, as the day before, took part in the award ceremony and personally presented Novak with the cup.
Another year, another incredible tournament. Congratulations to Novak Djokovic on becoming the men’s singles champion again today, and to all the players who have participated in the tournament these past two weeks. Last but not least, thanks to the staff, teams, and community that made this special event happen,” the couple later reached out via their social media blog, posting some photos.
For the sporting event, Kate again chose a polka dot dress by Roksanda – we recall that at the quarterfinals she also preferred along with this print. To the navy blue outfit, she added white shoes with dark capes and straps.
