Natanael Cano was linked to proceedings for the alleged crime of bribery in Mexico, The Sonora State Attorney General’s Office reported Monday night, August 19.
The events referred to by the Mexican authorities would have taken place on March 29 as part of the “Cano Fest”, where the artist was celebrating his birthday.
“The Office of the Attorney General of the State of Sonora (FGJES) received from a judge the connection to the proceedings of Natanael Rubén “N” for the alleged crime of bribery, In addition, he will be prohibited from leaving the country without judicial permission and will have to sign periodically in Court, due to the events recorded in Hermosillo on March 29 and spread on social networks.”
In the same report, Mexican authorities say that Nathanael Cano is also being investigated driving at excessive speed and performing dangerous maneuvers in his car.
“The defendant was driving a late model red Dodge Charger at an excessive rate of speed, with no license plates, on José María Morelos Avenue in Hermosillo, Sonora, when agents with an official unit of the Hermosillo Municipal Police were contacted. At that moment, the possible perpetrator gave money or gifts to the police officers so that they would not carry out just acts against them, arising from their duties”, they say.
“Natanael Rubén ‘N’ then continued to drive the aforementioned motor unit at a high rate of speed, which prompted a pursuit with city patrols, until the driver stopped the vehicle without the agents taking any action to stop him.”
Why won’t Nathanael Cano go to jail?
On August 19, Natanael Cano appeared for a hearing in the Oral Court of Hermosillo, Sonora. The “king of the corridos tumbados” appeared before the Mexican authorities protected by a bond that prevents him from being detained, so he will carry out his legal process free. However, you must sign every two months with a court and you will not be able to leave Mexico unless you get an order from the judge.
Before this resolution, Natanael Cano had expressed on social networks his desire to apologize to the municipal police of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, after what happened in March at the “Cano Fest”.
“Sending this message to all the Municipal Police of Hermosillo, Sonora, regarding the events that occurred for which I’ve already been finedfor which things are already being fixed and I would like to speak to the Commissioner personally apologize and then you have to take it easy, guys,” he said in March.
