The Amapá representative is 26 years old and will represent the country in the world competition
The young woman Josiana Viana26-year-old from Amapá was crowned winner of the contest Miss Brazil Earth 2024. She beat out 24 other candidates at the event, which took place on Friday night, the 30th, at the Sheraton Theatre, in Sao Paulo, and took home R$30,000.
With this decision, Josiane will represent Brazil at Miss Earth, the world pageant, which will take place in November in the Philippines. The last Miss Brazil, Morgana Carlos, 28, was among the eight finalists of the 2023 pageant.
Josiane is a model and law student, she is 1.74 m tall and has 12.2 thousand followers on Instagram. She was chosen in July to represent Amapá at Miss Brasil Terra. At the time, she said that she had only decided to participate in the national competition in May, but that she had already prepared her body and studied English to be ready for the competitions.
She also said that being at Miss Brasil Terra was a “unique experience” as it gave “a voice and an opportunity to enhance the multicultural riches supported by our mix of indigenous, African and European races, such as Mara Baixo, intangible cultural heritage of Brazil; the Fortaleza de São José de Macapá.”,
Josiane is not from Amapá, but from Pará, the model’s home state already had a representative, so she chose to compete for Amapá to represent the North Region. Before competing in Miss Brasil Terra, she underwent rhinoplasty surgery and also shared the process with her followers on Instagram.
