Johnny Depp, 59, has settled a legal dispute over the actor’s alleged attack on a member of the crew of the 2018 crime thriller City of Lies.
Depp and Greg “Rocky” Brooks have reached a pre-trial settlement, according to court documents obtained by People. Note that on July 25, they both had to appear before a civil court in Los Angeles. Judge Holly J. Fuji agreed to delay her upcoming trial until January 5 next year. However, what exactly is required now from Depp and what will happen if the actor does not obey is unknown.

The conflict between Depp and Brooks occurred on the set of City of Lies on April 13, 2017. According to the manager, director Brad Furman asked him to tell Depp that filming was over. On set, Depp already had a certain reputation, so Brooks chose to relay that information through a security guard. However, Depp got ahead of him, noticed, cursed and asked who he was. When Brooks began to make excuses, the actor got angry and punched him right in the face, provoking a backlash. The security guards had to intervene, who pulled the enraged Depp away from the victim.
Recall that in the film “City of Lies” Depp played a detective who investigates the murder of rapper The Notorious BIG, who was shot dead on the streets of Los Angeles in 1997. It is noteworthy that this is one of the last works of the actor, because it was after 2018 and the publication of Amber Heard’s article on domestic violence that Johnny Depp’s career began to crumble. In the process of litigation with the former, Depp instantly fell into the “black list” of Hollywood – he lost the role of Jack Sparrow in the upcoming “Pirates”, and the role of the villain Grindelwald in “Fantastic Beasts” was ceded to Mads Mikkelsen.
