Famous bodybuilder who fought obesity dies at 19: mystery surrounds his departure

Matheus Pavlak, a famous Brazilian bodybuilder who fought against obesity, died unexpectedly at the age of 19.

On Sunday afternoon, September 1, emergency services received a warning call to a house in the city of Blumenau, in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Military firefighters and the Arcángel helicopter team arrived at the residence, where they found the young man without vital signs in his bed, reports the portal Metrópoles.

According to the Civil Police, Pavlak suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest and his cause of death was recorded as “apparently natural”.

The authorities stressed that there were no traces of crime in the house and so they did not open an investigation, reports g1.

Matheus Pavlak transformed his body

Mathews Pavlak entered the world of fitness when he decided to lose the extra pounds he had and leave behind his negligent habits.

His former coach, Lucas Cegati, shared with the media that the teenager became interested in exercise, managing to continue losing weight.

“He started training harder in 2019 due to obesity. In 2022, when we met, we aligned our preparation and started aiming for the championship,” he said.

In 2023, Pavlak began to devote himself to competitions as a bodybuilder, supported by a trainer until September.

In November of that year, the two faced each other in the same tournament, where the former won the Junior Bodybuilding division.

On his Instagram account, Chegatti posted a heartfelt message for his former student: “Today the day ends sadly. “The loss of a great friend, a spectacular boy who leaves us too soon.”

“A fatality that took us by surprise, he had a bright future ahead of him, a respectable athlete. It’s hard to understand, there are no words to express how much it means in my heart,” he commented.

Matheus Pavlak managed to “beat his mind”

For his part, Matheus Hennings, one of Matheus Pavlak’s best friends, told g1 that he was “out of his mind”.

“He always did what he could to make things happen. “He took my passion for bodybuilding and told me how incredible he thought it was,” he said.

“We had a very strong friendship,” she said, “I considered him a brother from another mother. “I still can’t believe it happened to him so fast.”

The athlete was the son of Sergeant Joel Marcelino Pavlak, a physical education teacher at the Feliciano Nunes Pires Military Police Academy, CNN notes.
