Gugu’s alleged son vents about the division of the presenter’s assets: ‘Gratitude always’

Find out how the dispute over the inheritance, estimated at R$ 1 billion, is going

After almost five years, the division of inheritance left by Gugu Freed could be closer. Next Monday, the 9th, a face-to-face conciliation hearing is scheduled between the heirs of the presenter and Rose Miriam, João Augusto Liberato, 21 years old, the twins Marina and Sofia, 19 years old; and the businessman Ricardo Rocha, 49 years old, who also claims to be Gugu’s son. The information comes from Veja.

The request was made by the legally recognized children’s defense attorneys, who are seeking to resolve the paternity investigation as quickly as possible and have already agreed to provide genetic material for DNA testing.

Ricardo Rocha took to social media this Thursday, the 5th, to vent in the midst of the property division proceedings. “God is always… Wherever you go, I will be with you. Wherever you put your hand, I put mine. Wherever the sole of your feet goes, I go with mine. Gratitude always,” wrote Gugu’s alleged son on Instagram stories, on the profile of the dealership you own.

Earlier this week, the São Paulo Court blocked part of the inheritance left by presenter Gugu Liberato after a demonstration in defense of Rocha. According to g1, the request came after an out-of-court settlement for the sharing of the inheritance was registered with a notary by the nine heirs named in the will, on August 16.

The agreement stipulated that João Augusto, Marina and Sofia would receive 25% each, the grandchildren 5% and Gugu’s mother, Maria do Céu, 95, a lifetime income paid by her heirs.

In relation to the request for defense of the alleged son, the judge in the action relating to the recognition of paternity analyzed that “the heirs were fully aware of such action and could not have reached an extrajudicial agreement without proceeding to the necessary reservation of the assets as a guarantee of any copyright”.

The court then granted the freezing of a portion of Gugu’s assets in the proportion that would be due to Rocha at the end of the proceedings, if the kinship were proven. According to the Metrópoles portal, this involves freezing a quarter of all Gugu’s bank account balances and financial investments, in addition to the amounts already transferred to third parties.

Also last week it was learned that Rose Miriam withdrew from the trial in which she was asking for the recognition of a stable union with the presenter and renounced her inheritance. Previously she claimed 50% of Gugu’s assets.

The resignation was filed on August 21 and ended a legal and family dispute, since, while Rose’s request was supported by her daughters, there was disagreement from the other heirs named in the will.

Remember the facts

Killed in a domestic accident in November 2019, presenter Gugu Liberato left a will in which he donated 75% of his inheritance, estimated at R$ 1 billion, to his three children.

The remaining 25% of the estate would be divided among the five grandchildren; three of them children of Amandio Liberato, his older brother, and the other two of Aparecida Liberato, appointed curator of the estate.

The presenter’s mother was also granted a lifetime pension of R$ 163,000 per month.

Ricardo Rocha entered the scene in 2023, when he claimed to be the communicator’s son, demanded a DNA test and entered the fray over his fortune.

As reported by Estadão, as soon as they entered the room where the witnesses would be heard, during the hearing scheduled to discuss the inheritance, the three children and Gugu’s sister, Aparecida, were informed that a court official was on site to deliver them a subpoena document.

Marina, Sofia and João Augusto later learned of the existence of the post-mortem paternity investigation action opened by the businessman.

According to columnist Mônica Bergamo, Ricardo’s mother, Otacília Gomes da Silva, met Gugu, still a teenager, in a bakery in Perdizes, São Paulo, in the second half of 1973.

They began to meet daily at the plant and became friends. Later, they became more closely involved. In 1974, after spending vacations on the coast of São Paulo with the family she worked for, Otacília discovered she was pregnant, but she could never contact Gugu again.
