Julieta Rada joins Ile and confesses that she spends her time “calling”…

After the excellent repercussions of his recent single “Adiós a la Rama” with Fito Paez, Julieta Rada presents a new collaboration, this time with Ile, a prestigious Puerto Rican singer.

“Llamando” is the third preview of his album “Candombe”. This is a reinterpretation of the music originally composed by Mariana Ingold, a Uruguayan composer and singer.

This version highlights the distinctive drums characteristic of Uruguay and speaks of his connection to this rhythm, as the song says. “candombe I’m waiting for you, candombe I’m waiting for you, I fell in love with you, I fell in love with you, you are the music that I will love.”

“Llamando is a song that had a big impact on me when I was little. It was a hit in the 90s when I returned to Uruguay after living in Mexico for a few years as a child. That’s why it takes me right back to my childhood and my first contact with Uruguayan music,” Julieta said.

And he added: “For this single, My idea was to pay homage to Mariana and the song, revisiting the classic and covering it.. I wanted to collaborate with a female artist with folk roots, since the song was composed by a woman, which is not so common in Uruguayan folk music. I thought of Ile because we share a similar musical line, merging our folklore with more contemporary sounds. Today she is one of the artistic references of the genre.
