Bill Ward talks about paying homage to Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath

In a promotional video transcribed by Rolling Stone BrazilBill Ward reveals that he has no problem listening to Black Sabbath songs again.

“Going back to the memories of the songs enhances them. They’re all really good memories. There’s nothing bad that comes from listening to these old songs.”

Normally, he doesn’t try to listen to records so deliberately. Sometimes he wants to listen to a specific song — and he is automatically taken to other tracks.

“If I want to listen to ‘Iron Man’ again, I go to the original version, or the live versions. And then I go back to other favorite songs if I remember them at that moment.”

Finally, he reflected:

“I’m going to play some specific songs in light of Ozzy’s death. I’m reminded of the recording sessions, what we were doing at the time, Ozzy’s performances. It’s a trip down memory lane, a little selfish, I admit.”
