Cid or Alcide? After many questions about his real name, Cid Moreira once even showed his identity card to clear up the confusion. The presenter died this Thursday 3, at the age of 97, in Petrópolis, in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro.

Born in Taubaté, São Paulo, on September 27, 1927, the first presenter of the Jornal Nacional surprised his fans by publishing a video on his social networks and showing off his identity card, when he was 93 years old.

“Hi guys, how are you? Today I have come here to inform you, definitively, that my official name is Cid Moreira. I have nothing against the Alcides of life… But my name is Cid Moreira. If you want you can call me Citizen,” he joked.

Constantly called Alcides, the intention was to no longer have doubts about his real name. After the post, fans of the communicator began calling him “Cidão” in the comments of the post. The nickname began to be used in the “bio” description of his Instagram profile.
