Court fight: Cid Moreira had a troubled relationship with his children; Remember

The journalist Cid Moreirapassed away this Thursday morning, 10/03, had a troubled relationship with his children, Rodrigo and Roger Moreira. The family ended up facing each other in court.

In 2021, the presenter’s heirs filed a lawsuit seeking Cid’s disqualification, claiming he was senile. Rodrigo and Roger also accused their stepmother, Fatima Sampaioto transfer his father’s money to his own account.

In February of this year, Roger filed a new lawsuit alleging abuse. At the time, Cid’s wife said: “He wants to completely destroy Cid’s image. Of course, this makes me very sad because Cid is the love of my life.”

In an interview with the R7 portal in 2023, the Brazilian television icon spoke about the situation. “So many stories of hatred, betrayal, disappointments between family members. So, like everything in this world, family can be our good and our bad. I have my reasons for being isolated from certain people. Time makes me proved me right“, he said.

Cid Moreira has died at the age of 97. He was being treated for pneumonia in a hospital in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro.
