Dead at 73, Olivetto created a triple commercial in which TV stars poked fun at each other

Regina Duarte, Marília Pêra and Fernanda Montenegro had fun during the television break playing with the rivalry between them

Advertising genius, Washington Olivetto died at the age of 73 after a long hospital stay. Winner of hundreds of awards, he reinvented himself as a podcast host.

On “W/Cast” he interviewed celebrities such as Malu Mader, entertainment professionals such as Roberto Medina of “Rock in Rio” and media personalities such as former player Raí.

Olivetto himself made television news when he was kidnapped in December 2001. He spent 53 days in captivity. His release came after neighbors called police after hearing him scream for help.

Among the countless commercials made by Olivetto at his agency (such as those in the ‘Garoto Bombril’ series, with Carlos Moreno), one deserves to be highlighted: a trio of films with Regina Duarte, Marília Pêra and Fernanda Montenegro in the early 1990s 90.

To advertise the appliances, the actresses mocked the rivalry between each other. The public was divided in choosing the best commercial. (Watch the videos below.)

The series of commercials featuring soap opera actresses was so successful that, subsequently, Bruna Lombardi, Malu Mader, Ana Paula Arósio, Antônio Fagundes and other actors also recorded stage shows on television with the competition.
