Olympic champion and three-time bronze medalist in diving Tom Daley was awarded the Order of the British Empire for sports merit and support for the LGBTQ+ community. The British athlete and LGBTQ+ activist received a knighthood from the hands of Prince Charles the day before at Windsor Castle. For the ceremony, the 28-year-old jumper chose a Dior total look: a trouser suit, a light green shirt, a tie with beaded flowers, massive boots with stone decor and a briefcase bag. His husband, American screenwriter, director and producer Dustin Lance Black, who is 20 years older than Tom, was with him as a support group. They have been married since May 6, 2017, and on June 27, 2018, the couple had a son, Robert Ray, via surrogacy.

Congratulations to Tom Daley who today added the Order of the British Empire to his medal collection! – wrote later in the official account of the British royal family.

Tom also told social networks that he managed to talk with the Prince of Wales about his main hobby – knitting (recall that the whole world learned about him after he was photographed knitting on the podium during the Tokyo Olympics):

Today I received an MBE for services to swimming, LGBTQ+ rights and philanthropy. I would be honored to use this platform to advocate for all LGBTQ+ people across the Commonwealth and beyond (I also chatted about knitting with His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales!)

By the way, the athlete has already managed to turn his hobby into a business, and now he produces funny sweaters, cardigans, vests and scarves under the Made With Love by Tom Daley brand.
