Without electricity for 4 days, MC Daniel uses a generator at home: ‘Everything in the fridge is ruined’

Singer said he has to rent the device and that it will help friends and family who are without electricity in Sao Paulo

Singer MC Daniel spent four days without electricity in his home in Sao Paulo. The light came back on only thanks to a generator, rented and lent by a friend. The funk singer took to social media to speak out about the loan and said the losses were huge.

According to Daniel, everything in his refrigerator was lost, such as the meat. He revealed that he used the generator to save the lives of his pet fish, which need electricity to oxygenate the water in the aquarium.

“This generator saved. Without electricity it was messed up. It will be enough to do everything. I was taking a cold shower, very cold, it was still raining. It was complicated,” said the singer.

Falcão do Funk encouraged fans who have electricity to form a solidarity chain, for example by inviting friends and relatives to take a hot shower. “To solve this problem we just need to help each other,” he said.

A blackout hit Sao Paulo last Friday, the 11th, and thousands of people have been left without electricity in recent days. In a tone of protest, MC Daniel has called for electricity to be restored to his home this Monday the 14th.

“There is no way to remain without energy, without light, for four days. Impossible,” he wrote on his social network, citing Enel, the company responsible for energy distribution in the city of Sao Paulo. “If the lights don’t come back on I will protest right away. There is a longer delay, I will protest if the lights don’t come back on today,” he continued. The singer lives with Lorena Maria, his girlfriend, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child.

Enel informs in a statement that it “continues to work to restore supply”. The concessionaire registered 537 thousand properties in the cities of Greater São Paulo still without electricity as of 5.40 am on Monday 14th.
