British singer Liam Payneformer member of the band One Direction, died this Wednesday (16) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after falling from the third floor of a building. The tragedy occurred while the musician was in the city to attend the concert of his former bandmate, Niall Horan. A few hours before the accident, Liam interacted with his followers, sharing photos and videos on his social networks.
Circumstances of the fall
According to the Argentine newspaper La Nación, Liam Payne fell from the third floor of a hotel located in the Palermo district. Authorities were called after receiving a call to stop an “aggressive man”, who allegedly may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs. When the police arrived at the scene, the singer’s death was confirmed.
Official statements on the death
Alberto Crescentihead of the Emergency Medical Assistance System (SAME) in Argentina, provided details on what happened. “At 5.04pm [local]via 911, we were alerted to a person who was in the internal courtyard of the Casa Sur hotel. A few minutes later, a local SAME team arrived and confirmed the death of this man, who we later learned was a member of a musical group. Following the fall he suffered injuries incompatible with life,” Crescenti said.
