Liam Payne’s relatives have finally spoken out following the sudden and tragic death of the former One Direction member.
On October 16, the 31-year-old singer died after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Liam Payne’s family are devastated
Hours after Liam Payne’s death, his loved ones released a statement, broadcast by the BBC, in which they expressed their feelings.
“We are devastated. “He will live forever in our hearts and we will remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul,” they shared.
“We are supporting each other as best we can as a family and are asking for privacy and space at this terrible time,” they concluded.
The Daily Mail previously managed to speak to a relative of his interpreter outside a residence in his hometown of Wolverhampton, England.
“We are completely devastated by the news,” said the person, who was not identified by name by the media.
According to the paper, the superstar’s older sisters Nicola and Ruth arrived at the home in Codsall on Thursday morning.
Liam is the son of handyman Jeff Payne and nurse Karen, who told the Telegraph in 2017 that she “did her best” to raise him.
According to neighbors of the couple who spoke to the portal, they had left their home after it was found that their son had died.
“They were seen leaving in a hurry around midnight yesterday, but I’m not sure if they had suitcases,” said a witness.
So far, authorities have not clarified that Payne’s parents are headed to Argentina, where his remains are still located.
Liam Payne’s cause of death revealed
For its part, La Nación reported that the Forensic Corps at the Argentine Judicial Mortuary has begun the autopsy on Liam Payne.
In their preliminary findings, experts found that he suffered multiple injuries that led to internal and external bleeding, which caused his death.
Prior to this report, Alberto Crescenti, director of the emergency medical response service SAME, commented that the singer-songwriter suffered “extremely serious injuries” and “a fracture at the base of the skull.”
Specialists are currently carrying out the necessary tests to determine if Liam had any substances in his system that would affect his general health.
Prior to the incident, the manager of the property, Casa Sur, reportedly called local 911 to request support for “a guest who is high on drugs,” the LN+ news program explained.
