Less than a week after Liam Payne’s death, the alleged results of his toxicology test have been revealed.
The former One Direction member died last Wednesday afternoon after falling from the balcony of his room at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In an initial report, Coroners’ experts at the country’s forensic morgue said the singer died of “multiple trauma” with “internal and external bleeding” to the skull, chest, abdomen and extremities, according to The New York. Times.
Liam Payne reportedly took “multiple substances” before he died
On October 21, ABC News reports that a “partial autopsy” found that Liam Payne “had multiple substances in his system when he collapsed and died.”
Citing “sources”, the media indicated that the “substances” included “pink cocaine, a recreational drug that is generally a mixture of several drugs, including methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and others.”
In his body, the “Remember” singer also allegedly had “cocaine, benzodiazepine and crack,” as explained.
Informants reported that local authorities found “a makeshift aluminum pipe for taking drugs” in the third-floor living room.
So far, police have not confirmed or denied that report and continue to withhold the results of their toxicology analysis.
Payne’s remains will remain in the Argentine capital until the required tests are completed, the media said.
On Friday, October 18, the singer-songwriter’s father, Jeff Payne, arrived in Buenos Aires to manage the repatriation of his son’s body to his native England, according to the EFE agency.
The said process, according to claims, could take 10 to 15 days, so the composer’s father will have to wait to take him home.
Witnesses warned of Liam Payne’s behaviour
Before his death, the manager of the hotel where Liam Payne was staying called 911 because of the attitude of a guest, who was later identified as the artist.
āHe is consumed by drugs and alcohol. And it breaks up the room. We need you to send someone, please,ā the manager can be heard saying in an audio of the call carried by CNN.
For her part, a young woman identified as Rebecca, who claims to have lived in the same place, told the Daily Mail that she allegedly saw the singer-songwriter in a “worrying” attitude minutes before the tragedy.
“He behaved exactly as I imagine someone under the influence of drugs would: he was not concentrating, his pupils were dilated and he was acting aggressively, although with no one in particular,” she said.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor in charge of the case assured, after investigations began, that items found in Payne’s bedroom could “indicate a previous state of alcohol and drug consumption”.
