Ricky Martin responds to accusations of abusing his nephew

The scandal surrounding Ricky Martin, which flared up in early July with the issuance of a restraining order and accusations of domestic violence to the singer, acquires new details. Thus, for example, the identity of the applicant became known. As it turned out, Ricky was sued by his nephew and son. Martin’s half-sister 21 year old Dennis Adil Sanchez. The young man assures that he had an affair with his uncle, which lasted 7 months and ended this spring. And during this entire period, Dennis continues, the singer “carried out physical and psychological attacks.” Puerto Rican law takes incest allegations very seriously, and if the alleged affair between Martin and his nephew is confirmed, the singer could face up to half a century in prison.

Ricky himself denies his guilt. In an official statement to Deadline, the singer’s lawyer assured that Martin never had “any sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew.”

Unfortunately, the person making this statement is struggling with serious mental health issues. Ricky Martin, of course, has never been and never will be involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew. Even the assumption itself is not only wrong, but disgusting. We all hope this man gets the help he so badly needs. But most of all, we hope that this terrible case will be closed as soon as the judge considers the facts, the statement said.

Ricky Martin’s brother, Eric Martin, is of the same opinion.

I don’t think my older brother is capable of that. And my dearly beloved nephew, who has not communicated with his family for a long time, has mental problems. We have been fighting this all our lives and hiding this fact. But I’m tired of being silent, – quotes the words of Eric news agency El Vocero de Puerto Rico.

Ricky Martin is expected to appear in a Puerto Rico court on July 21st.
