The investigation of Bahia Civil Police ruled out the possibility that former Globo child actor João Rebello was involved in criminal activity. The boy was in the central region of Trancoso, in Bahia, when he was attacked and shot dead.

According to the latest reports from the Bahia Civil PoliceJoão was found dead in Praça da Independência. Witnesses reported that two men on a motorbike approached and fired at close range. Shortly afterwards they left the scene, which raised suspicions of a possible score-settling.
Last Friday, the 25th, the Military Police of Bahia located a motorcycle with the same description given by the witnesses. However, none of the men have been located.
The former child actor’s family does not know the reason for his death. In an online outburst, the boy’s mother, Maria Rebello, implied that her son was killed by mistake.
“I can’t close my eyes! Thank you for your words, I’m awake alone and Carol [irmã dele] we went to Trancoso! Violent land! They killed by accident, they confused the machine! He lived in a city where he lived peacefully with his wife Karine, played, partied with his sweetness 💔 my mourning will be eternal”, wrote João Rebello’s mother.
João’s sister, Maria Carol Rebello, in turn, asked people to stop speculating. “We still don’t know what happened, the Bahia police are investigating and we are here to release all the statements,” said Maria Carol, in a video shared on Instagram stories.

João Rebello Fernandes was the son of the actress Maria Rebello, brother of Maria Carol Rebello and nephew of the television director Jorge Fernandodied in 2019.
