Liam Payne’s life was reportedly in danger for years before his tragic death, aged 31, on October 16.
The former One Direction member died of “multiple trauma” with “internal and external bleeding” on his body after falling from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Liam Payne reportedly overdosed
On October 29, Page Six reports that “several sources” revealed to them that Liam Payne “suffered an overdose and had to be revived at least once” while he had a “drug addiction.”
One of the tipsters pointed out that the “Teardrops” singer allegedly overdosed “a few years ago.”
Another person, “an important figure in the music world”, told the media that they had “been told” that the singer had “overdosed at least twice in the past”.
In July 2023, the Briton recorded a video for YouTube in which he shared that he was in rehab for alcohol and drug abuse.
“I really needed to take some time for myself, because I had become someone I didn’t recognize anymore,” she told the camera.
After Payne’s death, TV presenter Richard Mandley told ‘Good Morning Britain’ that he was “always very open about the demons that haunted him”.
“He spoke about his problems with drink and drugs, and was very proud of the fact that he recently celebrated 100 days without drugs,” she said.
On October 21, ABC News and TMZ reported that a “partial autopsy” of the artist allegedly found that he “had multiple substances in his system when he fell and died,” including “pink cocaine.”
They would have “forced” Liam Payne to work
For his part, an alleged close friend of Liam Payne told Page Six that his friends were “surprised” that his agent signed him up for Netflix’s “Building the band.”
“His manager pushed him to record the show,” he noted, “we were in ‘shock’, there was no way he was going to be able to do that.”
“Liam, in the last few months, had become very isolated from a new group of people, very far away [aquellos] that they cared about him and that they had been trying to help him for a long time,” he added.
Following the pop star’s death, a source told The Sun it was “too early” for the platform to decide whether or not to air the show.
