Linda Evangelista returns to the profession – for the first time since the unsuccessful plastic surgery that disfigured her body, and the subsequent several years of seclusion. The 56-year-old supermodel signed a contract with Fendi and has already shared the result of this collaboration – a shot from the brand’s new campaign. The photo, in which Evangelista poses for photographer Steven Meisel, announces a special fashion show dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Fendi Baguette, an iconic bag designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi. The screening will take place on September 9 in New York. It is not yet clear whether Evangelista will participate in the show, but it is possible that this is where her epoch-making return to the podium will take place.

Recall that Linda Evangelista, a Canadian of Italian origin and one of the brightest top models of the 90s, along with Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Helena Christensen, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, stopped participating in shows, photo shoots and generally appearing in public after an unsuccessful liposuction, forever changed her body. For the first time, she spoke about this in her microblog last fall:
To my followers who wondered why I don’t work while the careers of my peers are flourishing, I answer: the reason is that I was severely disfigured by the CoolSculpting Zeltiq machine liposuction procedure (non-surgical liposuction), the effect of which was just the opposite of what was promised, Linda admitted .
Linda added that she has recovered a lot and no longer looks the same, and any attempts to correct the situation have so far been unsuccessful.
I developed paradoxical fatty hyperplasia, or PAH, the risk of which I was not aware of before I had the procedure. My body remained deformed even after two unsuccessful and painful corrective surgeries. I became, as the media write, “unrecognizable.” This not only deprived me of my income, but plunged me into the deepest depression, I became a hermit. I’m tired of living like this. I’d like to open the door and walk out of the house with my head held high despite the fact that I no longer look like my former self.
This winter Evangelista appeared on the cover of a magazine for the first time in several years of seclusion. In an interview, Evangelista told her story in detail and honestly showed exactly what changes her body had undergone. There were visible fat deposits on her face, thighs and chest, and, as doctors told her, no diets would fix her body.
I tried to fix everything. I got to the point where I stopped eating altogether. Thought I was going crazy. And then she came to the doctor again, took off her dressing gown, showed everything and asked sobbing: “I don’t eat, I’m hungry. But what am I doing wrong?” When I was diagnosed with paradoxical fatty hyperplasia (or PAH), I asked what it was? And the doctor told me that no diets and no exercises will ever fix the situation, Linda admitted in an interview.
