Every day is something new. Being the father of a teenager is challenging, but at the same time it is a beautiful phase of discovery and connection. I love it very much“, says Rainer Cadete. “I try to be present, listen and support, and it’s a very enriching exchange.”

This connection was strengthened with the release of the book It looks like that filterin September this year. The project was developed by the artist together with his son, the result of his relationship with the dancer Giglio Alvezand addresses issues such as fatherhood and structural racism.

Every conversation we had during this project strengthened our bond. Seeing our relationship and these reflections become something tangible has been a huge achievement, and I hope the book touches other people in the same way it has touched us“, he adds.

In addition to the family bond, Rainer Cadete plays from October 3rd at the Teatro Multipan VillageMall, in Rio de Janeiro, with the musical comedy An almost perfect nanny. The artist shares the stage with names like Eduardo Sterblitch AND This is Pizza.

He assures us that the work was fun, even though it was tiring due to the different dynamics that a musical combined with comedy brings with it. For Cadete it is gratifying to see the success of the opera, which after a sold-out season in RJ, arrives in Sao Paulo in March next year, at the Liberdade Theatre.

Below, Rainer Cadete provides more details behind the scenes of the musical comedy and recalls his work on the show Standard and comments on the soap opera sequence It’s a beautiful world! (Globe). Watch edited excerpts of the conversation.

What is it like to perform this great comedy classic on stage?

It’s delicious! Comedy has this magic of engaging the audience, causing laughter and at the same time reflecting on deeper themes. It’s always a challenge to find the right rhythm and connect with the audience, but it’s also extremely rewarding to see that it’s possible to run sessions from Wednesday to Sunday, with some couples sold out and the audience laughing their asses off.

What is it like for you to make a musical and, more importantly, a comedy?

The musical brings a different dynamic, requiring intense energy to perform, sing, dance and make more than 20 costume changes, and the humor adds an extra level of challenge. We have a lot of fun, but it’s a constant preparation to balance acting, singing and comedic timing. It’s exhausting, the closest I’ve come to being an Olympic athlete in my acting work [risos].

You recently starred in the show Norma, with Nívea Maria, which is a show that has a little more dramatic energy. What is it like for you to go from drama to humor?

Very enriching because the stories are permeated by all this. There would be no smile if there were no tears. Each project requires a different delivery. Drama takes you into a denser immersion, while comedy brings lightness and requires precision. I like to challenge myself and explore these changes, and I enjoy finding out where I can mix the two.

And you never stop. He went from soap opera to stage show, now he’s in a musical. How do you manage to juggle so many projects?

Yes, I have a busy routine, but that’s exactly what motivates me. Each new project renews my energy and offers me unique experiences. I feel multifaceted and chameleonic, and this ability to reinvent myself is something I really appreciate. It’s a juggling act, no doubt, but the passion for art and the chance to explore different facets of myself help balance it all. I believe that the true routine of an actor is to allow himself to undergo these transformations and immerse himself body and soul in each new challenge.

You have also been confirmed by Globo for the sequel to Êta Mundo Bom. Is there anything you can say about this project? Was there an invitation?

Unfortunately I can’t provide many details at the moment, but I am very satisfied with this sequence. It was an incredible project and it would be a pleasure to return to the Êta Mundo Bom universe.
