Li Martins confesses after husband’s death: ‘It seems I was preparing myself’

In a heartfelt account of life after the death of her husband, JP Mantovani, Li Martins reveals situations that help her move forward

The singer Li Martins opened his heart during an interview with PodDelasthis Thursday, 10/23, talking about the death of her husband, JP Mantovani. Experiencing mourning, a period of great fragility, the celebrity underlined that he tried to respect time. And, to move forward, he found the ‘signs’ left by his partner.

“I think it’s possible not to freak out. I have my moments of freaking out, yes. I have my moments where I don’t want to talk to anyone, I want to cry… But I’ve also learned to respect that moment and allow myself to live it,” confessed.

Then, in the conversation, she recounted in detail an episode that really struck her and which she only now understood as “preparation”. “There was a meeting where he said, ‘I want you to participate’. I went to meet a friend of his, who he thought would help us. At that moment, I didn’t really understand how he would help us,” remembered.

And he continued: “Five months later a job for a cosmetics company came up and I didn’t know it was the same person he was talking to. I heard him say, ‘It’s more like her, it’s more like her’. That’s when I met Lauro, who is with me today, helping me through this 360, not just with the pain, but with bureaucratic matters I had no idea about.”

New cycle

Finally, Li Martins pointed out that the way JP handled his tasks in recent months seemed like preparation. “All of this feels like it was already happening, in a process, that it feels like my husband was already pulling me towards it. Reconnecting with my essence, learning new things, taking care of myself. I think he prepared me for this new cycle,” she said, quite excited.
