Singer Ana Castela’s cousin, Paula Proença Castela Ribeiro, died at the age of 35 this Thursday, 23. She was pregnant and had complications during childbirth. The singer and other family members, in fact, had asked for blood donations in her name.

The singer informed that her cousin was in Cuiabá (MT) and showed a message she received from the city’s blood bank, saying that she received many donors after the artist requested them via social media. “She’s pregnant. So thank you to each of you,” Ana said.

What is known about Paula’s death

According to the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) of Mato Grosso, Paula did not survive complications resulting from pregnancy and postpartum. She left behind her husband and children.

“In this moment of farewell, the Brazilian Bar Association – Mato Grosso Section (OAB-MT) expresses deep regret and solidarity with the family and friends. May they go through this moment of pain with strength and serenity”, we read in a note.

The baby remains hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit (ICU), but the hospital was not disclosed.

Who was Paula Castela

Paula was a lawyer and worked in the city of Cáceres, about 220 km from Cuiabá. Evangelical, she participated in the Assembly of the New Alliance of God Church (ADNA). The Church has also expressed itself on social media.

“In this time of grief, we join together in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to comfort the hearts of their families and friends, strengthening everyone with the hope we have in Christ Jesus, that one day we will be together again in eternity.”

Paula’s body was buried in the Igreja Assembleia de Deus Nova Aliança church in Cáceres, where she lived with her husband, Tiago, and daughter, Lídia. The burial took place in the cemetery of Parco dos Ypes, on the morning of this Friday the 24th. To date, Ana Castela has not yet commented on her cousin’s death.
