The cases occurred in Rua Lisboa, 500 meters from Rua Joaquim Antunes, which has suffered a wave of robberies in recent months
Rua Lisbona, a Pinesin the west area of Saint Paulhave recorded at least two crimes this week. The street is located about 500 meters from Rua Joaquim Antunes, in the same neighborhood that has suffered a wave of robberies in recent months.
According to a resident’s complaint, one of the crimes took place at number 508, around 8.40pm on Tuesday 21st. Images recorded by monitoring cameras obtained from Estadao they show a man on a motorcycle parks the vehicle behind a white car and waits a few moments. A woman in a white blouse walking along the sidewalk is approached by the suspect.
From the images the man appears armed and, after the approach, a physical fight begins and he begins to attack the woman. Deliver at least two blows to the victim’s head.
According to the resident, the woman was hit with rifle butts and was the victim of a robbery, but she was unable to provide information on the contents of what was taken. According to the images, after the attacks, the woman frees herself from the criminal, who then flees.
The report contacted the State Secretariat for Public Security (SSP-SP), which did not identify an incident related to what was caught on camera.
As demonstrated by Estadao, in early October a man was shot in the leg on the street. In the month of January, a young man shot dead after a robbery on the road. This week, a boy had his cell phone stolen and he had to teach the thief how to unlock the device (see the video below).
All incidents involved the use of motorcycles by criminals. It is suspected that the presence of a large tree in the street facilitates the action of criminals.
Residents have also put up a warning sign to inform them that the region is a risk zone regarding public safety. “Danger, you are in Pinheiros (the most dangerous neighborhood in São Paulo). An area with a high rate of armed robberies,” informs a poster glued to a pole.
The SSP-SP says robberies fell by 6% in the area covered by the 3rd Sectional Police Station, responsible for incidents in that region, between January and August this year, compared to the same period in 2024.
