The competition for new movie releases was tough the day before, especially with the tight selection that audiences were offered this week. We finally managed to find the remake of the fantasy classic The Shrinking Man, a new adaptation by Jan Koonen, which finds Jean Dujardin (to whom we recently dedicated a quiz) in the title role eighteen years later in 99 francs.
Also showing is a new musical biopic (following the Bob Marley, Amy Winehouse and Bob Dylan films) about a very specific period in the life of singer Bruce Springsteen, in this case the genesis of his iconic album. Nebraska.
Big and small releases
But also, eagerly awaited by many impatient fans, the release of the first part of Alexandre Astier’s Kaamelott 2, four years after the first film, once again with hundreds of stars, including Alain Chabat, Christian Clavier, Virginie Ledoyen and Thomas VDB. Not forgetting the underdog Arco, Hugo Bienvenue’s animated film co-produced by actress Natalie Portman, which could surprise this week and perform well in the game.
It’s not easy being all these heavyweights for the other movies released this week. And among them, Little Brother, Sheridan O’Donnell’s first feature film, stars the charismatic J.K. Simmons, known for his roles as a tortured drama teacher in Whiplash, or journalist Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man franchise.
An exciting road movie
The film tells the story of an unstable and on the verge of collapse, Pete, who, after a suicide attempt, is entrusted to his younger brother by his overburdened parents, who hope to save the family upon arrival. This 2,200-kilometer journey in an old dilapidated van then becomes the scene of a confrontation as explosive as it is intense.
On the occasion of the release of Little Brother, we invite you to go through the filmography of actor JK Simmons with his nine films to find using one image. It depends on you!
