Mariana Aydar and singer, songwriter and accordionist Mestrinho won the Portuguese Language Roots Music category at the 25th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, held in Miami, Florida. “It was an album made with a lot of truth,” the singer said in her acceptance speech.

Released in April, the album “Mariana e Mestrinho” celebrates the classics of forró pé de serra, as well as having new songs. The two artists are united by their inspiration from the famous instrumentalist Dominguinhos.
